Senior Executive – Proxy Project (Internal)

Closing date: 17th August. Salary: £48,112 - £58,803 (dependent on experience) Contract: permanent, with three month probation period

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and dependable Senior Executive to lead the day-to-day management and development of the proxy project.

The proxy project is a network of social media channels designed to reach audiences beyond traditional political and organisational accounts. It is an important and growing part of 411’s Content Engine, combining high-volume content production, audience insight and rapid creative testing.

Key responsibilities

Team leadership and project management
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the proxy project.

  • Provide hands-on direction, support and constructive feedback to the rest of the team.

  • Lead three weekly team stand-ups, setting priorities, responsibilities and deadlines.

  • Hold regular check-ins with the project’s freelancers.

  • Maintain a collaborative, ambitious and supportive working environment.

  • Meet regularly with the Head of Department to provide concise updates on performance, risks, opportunities and decisions required.

Editorial direction and collaboration
  • In collaboration with the Amplifiers team, draft a weekly editorial briefing to guide what the proxy team posts about.

  • Work closely with the Senior Executive leading the Amplifiers programme, sharing successful narratives, creative formats, performance insights and emerging risks.

  • Identify opportunities for the two programmes to coordinate activity, test complementary approaches and apply shared learning.

  • Use performance data, social trends, audience insight and organisational priorities to identify the strongest topics, narratives and creative opportunities.

Content, performance and reporting
  • Produce consistently strong content for two of your own proxy pages.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date project performance tracker.

  • Monitor performance across the project, identifying successful content, emerging opportunities and areas requiring improvement.

  • Take responsibility for maintaining consistent output, providing additional guidance to the rest of the team where needed.

  • Diagnose weaker performance and implement a clear plan for improvement.

  • Oversee the weekly report for the Senior Leadership Team, coordinating the team rota and ensuring it is completed on time as well as editing before final sign-off.

Innovation and project development
  • Identify new formats, platforms, audiences and ways of working that could strengthen the project.

  • Bring forward practical ideas for improving and growing the project, and take ownership of delivering agreed actions.

  • Improve systems and processes so the project operates effectively and efficiently.

  • Stay informed about relevant developments in UK politics, social media, online culture, and audience behaviour.

Commercial and client work
  • Work with the Head of Department to turn the proxy project into a clear and compelling offer for commercial clients.

  • Help develop how the project is packaged and marketed to prospective clients.

  • Contribute to a longer-term plan for the project’s commercial growth and sustainability.

  • Oversee proxy content for commercial projects, including Project Noise.

  • Manage day-to-day client relationships where required and ensure projects meet their objectives, deadlines and reporting requirements.

  • Develop results and case studies to support future business development.

Internal representation
  • Represent the proxy project within the wider 411 structure.

  • Build understanding of the project’s purpose and impact across 411.

  • Share relevant insights, results and successes with colleagues and senior leadership.

  • Connect the project to wider organisational priorities and relevant areas of 411’s work.

About you

You will be:

  • Proactive and able to spot what needs doing without waiting to be asked.

  • Mature, responsible, reliable and comfortable taking ownership.

  • Confident in providing direction, feedback and support to junior colleagues.

  • Editorially strong, with good judgement about the topics, narratives and formats most likely to succeed.

  • Confident using performance data to inform creative and operational decisions.

  • A practical problem-solver who responds constructively to challenges.

  • Collaborative and willing to share knowledge across teams.

  • Able to turn ideas into clear plans and follow them through to completion.

  • A strong editor with excellent attention to detail.

  • Comfortable representing the project internally and building client relationships.

  • Genuinely committed to the proxy project and excited by the opportunity to shape its future.
