Key Purposes
You will work on our digital organising team, supporting the delivery of digital communication strategies for progressive political causes in the UK and internationally. This entry-level role will give you experience in developing effective and targeted political campaign strategies, from the initial ideation stages right through to delivery. You will work closely with the team to decide where clients should be campaigning, how we can reach our target audience and voters, and what is the most effective campaign messaging to use.
You will have the opportunity to manage relationships with multiple senior stakeholders, including elected politicians and senior political party staff.
The role will require working with progressive activists and volunteers in various contexts, including mobilising and training activists in person and online.
Specific Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of political campaigns and digital strategy, supporting the team in tailoring strategies to meet specific client needs.
Working closely with activists and volunteers, including organising, training and mobilising, to target political messages into the right spaces online.
You will be trained in how to draft clear and persuasive political messaging tailored to segments of target audiences and voters, often to a tight deadline.
Collaborate with team members to execute digital projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
Support in developing digital strategies and social media content, working with senior team members to create content for digital platforms.
Track and report on campaign performance, providing key insights and assisting in optimisation efforts.
Assist in the coordination of logistics, ensuring smooth execution of campaigns and that resources are used efficiently.
Stay updated on current digital trends and political landscape changes to inform campaign strategies.
Any other reasonable tasks as requested by your project manager.
Out-of-hours work may be required during busy periods.
Person Specification
A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Strong political instinct and an ability to keep up with current affairs and breaking news
Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
A passion for political campaigns and progressive politics.
Detail-oriented with an enthusiasm for creative problem-solving.
A willingness to learn quickly and to work in a fast paced environment, often under pressure
Experience
Strong interest in political campaigns and strategies, and the role of social media in shaping public opinion is essential.
Experience in shaping strong and clear written arguments is essential.
Some experience in communications, social media, or political campaigns is desirable.
Experience in organising, working with activists, or mobilising people is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with basic digital tools (e.g., social media platforms, Google Analytics, content management systems) is a plus but not required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present in front of large audiences.
Strong organisational and project management skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
A creative approach to problem-solving and campaign execution.
